Inspired by the body and the soul. When discernment between the two becomes necessary and balanced, there yet exists loss. The reconciliation also resides there. Is discernment an automatic reduction? Or does this discernment offer a chance at balance, while still sad, that mirrors the Divine. This painting stirs many emotions for me. In the first stages, the white streak did not exist. Instead the painting existed as a continuous orange gradient with the black connecting heaven and Earth. Commented by an ex girlfriend, the white line represented a severance, which mirrored the state of our relationship at the time.
